IELTS Writing Practice 7 Task 2

Question: Is freedom of speech necessary in free society?
Decide whether you agree/disagree completely with statement, partly agree/disagree with it, or have on definite opinion

Freedom of speech, which was one of the main problem in some place, is the one most important thing that people have to struggle on in order to develop their society. Neverthless, some people do not agree with freedom of speech because of some particular reasons. I will elaborate some of the positive and negative arguments of freedom of speech in the following paragraphs.
Firstly, freedom of speech is needed because people can give their opinions, expressions and arguments openly to improve the quality of their society. In the other words, every people has the same rights to take a part in the society which means there is no dominant or minority party or people. So that, every part in the society could control or oversee each other in order to maintain the integrity and reduce the problems. In addition, some of values, such as honesty, politeness and mutual honour, would be obtained because of control role of freedom of speech.
However, there are some drawbacks that we have to remember. Sometimes, the more people talk, the more difficult to arrange because of too much input that might be hard to hear all the opinions. Furthermore, sometimes we find it difficult to distinguish which opinions are good and honest due to the egoism of each people in society.
In conclusion, from my perspective, I prefer to apply freedom of speech in society rather than  to delimit it. So that I agree that every people in society have to speak up their opinions, expressions and arguments, but we need to manage it well, so we can separate which is good or bad, honest or deceitful opinions, expressions and arguments
